As we close the books on 2025, the team at Superior Building Concepts (SBCKY) has been reflecting on a landmark year. From our facility in Kentucky, we manufactured and shipped thousands of custom-engineered trusses to job sites across the United States.

Behind that number isn't just lumber and steel—it’s thousands of homes, barns, and commercial centers. Here is a look at what we accomplished this year and the key lessons that will shape how we serve our builders in 2026.

1. Scaling for the "Big Builds"

This year saw a significant shift towards large-scale multi-family complexes and commercial projects.

The Lesson: Precision at scale is everything. When you are shipping large span trusses, there is zero room for error. We invested heavily in our quality control checks this year to ensure that every "Big Build" arrived ready to set.

2. The Rise of the "Open-Web" Multi-Family Standard

2025 was the year of the floor truss. We saw a record number of multi-family developers move away from traditional I-joists in favor of our open-web floor systems.

The Lesson: Developers are prioritizing "Total Installed Cost" over "Unit Price." By reducing the time mechanical trades spend on-site, our floor trusses helped projects reach occupancy weeks ahead of schedule. We’ve refined our design process to make these MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) chases even more intuitive for sub-contractors.

3. Quality Wins in a Volatile Market

Lumber markets were unpredictable this year, but our commitment to quality remained fixed. While others looked for ways to cut costs by using inferior wood, we doubled down on #1 Southern Yellow Pine.

The Lesson: Builders can tell the difference. Trusses made with higher-grade lumber are easier to handle, stay straighter on the stack, and lead to fewer callbacks for drywall cracks. Quality lumber isn't just an engineering choice; it’s a customer service choice.

4. Logistics: Kentucky to the Country

From the hills of Appalachia to the plains of the Midwest, our logistics team covered more miles in 2025 than ever before. We perfected the art of "Job Site Ready" delivery—ensuring trusses are loaded in the sequence they are set.

The Lesson: A truss manufacturer is only as good as their delivery. We’ve learned that clear communication regarding site prep (especially during winter months) is the key to a successful drop and a happy framing crew.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We are entering the new year with a full pipeline and an expanded design team ready to tackle your most complex blueprints. Whether you are a custom home builder or a commercial developer, our goal remains the same: to provide the smartest, strongest truss solutions in the industry.

Thank you to the builders who trusted us with their projects this year.
